Frequently Asked Questions

Clear Aligner Treatment Q&A

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will there be any pain during treatment?

Aligners use the same principle of moving teeth by applying force as traditional braces. While it is not completely painless, the process involves gradually shifting the teeth, so the discomfort is generally less than with wire braces.

If you experience severe pain that is unbearable when moving on to your next aligner, it may indicate that the teeth have not fully moved into place. In such cases, please consult your dental clinic.

2. Will it work for my teeth?

Before starting treatment, you can view a 3D model that shows a simulation of your treatment progression and final teeth alignment, so you can begin treatment with confidence.

3. Will my teeth shift back?

By using retainers as prescribed, you can prevent your teeth from shifting back. After alignment treatment concludes, you will need to wear a retainer for at least a 6 month period called the “retention phase” of treatment.

Since teeth can shift throughout life, we recommend wearing the retainer for as long as possible beyond the 6 month period to maintain the results.
