Treatment to prevent disease

In preventive dentistry, we do not treat cavities or periodontal disease after they have developed, but rather treat them to prevent these diseases. Even if you receive treatment after you have developed a disease, lost teeth and gums cannot be restored.
That’s why it’s important to take proper precautions.

PMTC

PMTC stands for Professional Mechanical Tooth Cleaning, which literally means “cleaning teeth using machines by professionals.” Using various specialized equipment, we remove biofilm (a mass of bacteria on the surface of the teeth), plaque, and tartar, which are the biggest causes of cavities and periodontal disease. Since this is just a teeth cleaning, we do not grind your teeth with drills or other tools. It removes dirt that cannot be removed by regular brushing, so you can enjoy a refreshing feeling. It is said that biofilm regenerates in about three months, so we recommend regular PMTC.

Fluorine application

A high concentration of fluoride is applied to the teeth at the clinic. By applying fluoride to the surface of the teeth regularly, the teeth will grow to be less susceptible to cavities. To get the full effect, it is ideal to apply fluoride 3 to 4 times a year.

Three effects of fluoride

  1. Strengthening teethBy hardening tooth enamel, teeth become more resistant to the acids produced by the bacteria that cause cavities.
  2. Helps remineralizationIt helps the remineralization action of saliva, restoring areas of teeth that have been dissolved by acid and are at risk of decay.
  3. Suppresses the activity of bacteria that cause tooth decayIt suppresses the activity of bacteria that cause tooth decay and reduces the production of acid that dissolves teeth.
